Impact
This year the development and activities ofthe charity has picked up pace and we have seen marked improvement in the growth of the charity. The setting up of the website was key to this as we were able to showcase our aid projects online and also for our donors to see our activities in motion. Our marketing campaign via the distribution of leaflets to businesses, takeaways, community centres, schools has slowly enhanced our profile to the wider community. The following projects were completed during this year: Launched Lebanon Appeal: the funds raised was for clean water and sanitation. All funds collected towards Appeal were handed to Islamic Relief for their relief work there. Gambia Food aid program and water well projects: The food programme is distributed to families in the bush areas of mandinari and serekunda. This was added to our program due to the wave of food inflation which was affecting the very poor in these areas. These food aid projects supplies packages to over 300 families on a regular basis every 6 months. Water aid projects were also carried out and wells were dug up in rural areas where several families living compounds now have access to shared water. In Bangladesh during Cyclone Sidr we managed to get a team of volunteers to distribute emergency relief packages to hundreds of families in Daulatkhan and pirigpur. Parcels containing rice lentils, milk powder, molasses, salt and sugar matches candles and some sanitation supplies. Annual Qurbani parcels were also carried out that year. In Pakistan Food aid project were distributed to the very poor in shanty towns. This was only possible because of Mr Mohammed Ilyas whose hard work and enthusiasm had managed to deliver this aid to where it was most needed.
